Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be judged?: No

Will the counsellor give me advice?: No

Will the counsellor be able to solve my problems for me?: No

How does it differ to talking to a friend?: I am aware of my prejudices, will not talk about myself inappropiately and have had three and a half years training. As well as this I am in ongoing continuing professional development training. I am in my own therapy from time to time where necessary. I particularly like working with trainee counsellors.

What will counselling do?: Counselling helps you to work things out for yourself by providing you with responses that are non judgmental, empathic and genuine.
